Journal: Alternative & Complementary Therapies
Study Design: Randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial
Participants: 28 healthy subjects (14 males, 14 females) aged 35-73 (average age 50)
Trial Length: 1 month
Intervention:
- Maitake D-fraction group (n = 15): 1 drop of D-fraction per kg body weight per day, divided into three doses
- Placebo group (n = 13)
Primary Outcomes: Safety and tolerability of Maitake D-fraction
Secondary Outcomes: Changes in 24 hematologic parameters
Summary: The study investigated the safety and potential effects of Maitake D-fraction on various health parameters in healthy individuals. The results showed that Maitake D-fraction was safe and well-tolerated, with no adverse effects reported. While there were no significant changes in most of the 24 hematologic parameters tested, some parameters, including hemoglobin, hematocrit, and GPT/ALT, showed statistically significant but clinically minor differences between the Maitake and placebo groups. The study suggests that Maitake D-fraction is safe for consumption and may have subtle positive effects on certain health parameters, although further research is needed to confirm these findings.
